News: Suspect arrested for possession of unlicensed firearm and others for dealing in drugs in Delft

WESTERN CAPE Vigilant response from our members to eliminate the presence of unlicensed firearms and drugs in our communities has led to the arrest of several suspects in Delft.

On Wednesday, 29 January 2020, at about 21:30, Delft SAPS members were busy with stop and search operations in Brak Street, Leiden. After searching a suspect, the members found him to be in possession of an unlicensed firearm. The 35yearold suspect was detained for the possession of an unlicensed firearm.

Three suspects aged 23, 29 and 34 respectively were arrested for dealing in drugs at a house in Koringblom Street, Roosendal. On Wednesday, 29 January 2020 at about 23:30, the members acted on information and operationalised. Members proceeded to the mentioned house and found the trio in possession of 21 packets of tik, a half mandrax tablet and crushed mandrax; 30 straws of whoonga; 60 tik lollies; 19 dagga cigarettes, one pocket scale and an undisclosed amount of cash.

All the suspects are due to appear in the Bellville Magistrate’s Court once they are charged.
