News: Swift response led to the arrest of the Stutterheim escapee

KING WILLIAMS TOWN – The King William’s Town Flying Squad, K9 Unit, Stutterheim Detectives together with Crime Prevention members in a joint operation last night arrested Buzile Hlungwini who escaped in Stutterheim Court Wednesday. The 27 year old suspect was reported to have taken a hike from his village, Kwazidenge, it is alleged that he was going to Phakamisa in King William’s Town.

Police quickly acted on an information they received from a community member who saw the escapee getting in vehicle in his village hiking spot. The Police then waited for the alleged vehicle in a certain spot where they spotted the vehicle and stopped it. The suspect was in the back seat of the vehicle when Police stopped it and they recognised him and arrested him immediately.

King William’s Town SAPS Cluster Commander Brigadier Luntu Ngubelanga commended the members for their swift response to this matters and encouraged the members to keep up the good work. If we continue to work together like this we will conquer crime said Brigadier.
