Newspapers Review: The Israeli army ‘assassination’ of three Palestinians near Nablus highlight of the dailies

Described by the Palestinian Arabic dailies published today as ‘assassination’, news about the Israeli occupation army killing of three young Palestinians near Nablus was highlighted on the front page of the three dailies.
The main front-page headline in al-Hayat al-Jadida daily said: ‘Sneaking during the night: The occupation forces assassinate three youths in Nablus and a child succumbs to his wounds in Jenin.’
Al-Ayyam daily headline said: ‘The occupation soldiers assassinate three youths from the Lions’ Den near Surra checkpoint,’ while the headline in the third daily, al-Quds, said: ‘Three martyrs, two wounded, and one arrest west of Nablus.’
The dailies printed pictures of the three youths and of soldiers near the site where the killing took place.
Al-Hayat al-Jadida said wide condemnation of the assassination of the three youths.
In other news, al-Quds quoted Peace Now talking about plans to expand the small settlement outposts located in the heart of the West Bank, while al-Ayyam quoted an Israeli official saying that al-Khan al-Ahmar community east of Jerusalem will not be evacuated and there are more pressing issues than this.
Al-Quds said former Israeli prime minister Ehud Barak calls for civil disobedience in Israel and the former government legal advisor Mandelblit says confrontation is better than a bad compromise solution.
It also said the collapse of the biggest American bank raises concern in Tel Aviv.
Al-Ayyam said the agreement between Saudi Arabia and Iran was a blow to Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and a strategic turning point.
It said there is confusion in the education sector as teachers plan a strike at the prime minister’s office today.
Al-Hayat al-Jadida said the Palestinian freedom fighters in Israeli jails are on their 27th day of mutiny against the repressive prison measures.
