The North West Provincial Legislature will be hosting the Energy and Academia Sectoral Parliament 2017 under the theme:” The Role of Higher Learning Institutions In Addressing the Evolving Energy Challenges at the North West University – Potchefstroom Campus Potchefstroom University at 09h00.

The Legislature recognises the pivotal role that is played by the students in higher learning institutions and their influence on socio-economic agenda, therefore the aim of the event is to allow learners in the higher learning institutions to give valuable input on the current curriculum in relation to energy and technology.

Learning Institutions and students will debate on whether the current curriculum prepares them to deal with the evolving challenges on energy.

The North West University in Mafikeng and Potchefstroom Campus; Vuselela TVET College from Klerksdorp and Potchefstroom; Orbit TVET College from Rustenburg; five Student Representative Councils from the learning institutions, senior management from the National Energy Regulator of South Africa (NERSA) and ESKOM will form part of the event.
