Operation Lockdown II members arrest a suspect for possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition in Bloekombos

CAPE TOWN – Operation Lockdown ll members deployed in Kraaifontein area conducted stop and searches and arrested a 35-year-old suspect for the illegal possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition in Bloekombos area. The firearm was reported stolen in the Brackenfell area and the suspect will appear in court once charged.

In an unrelated incident members of Lockdown II conducted patrols in Nyanga area when they received information from the owner of a hijacked vehicle, a Silver Toyota Yaris, stating the whereabouts of the vehicle. The vehicle was spotted at 3rd Avenue parked next to a tavern. The members conducted surveillance on the vehicle and the surrounding area but with no success. The vehicle was towed away and booked in as an exhibit and for further investigation to possibly lift fingerprints.
