Operation Vala Konke yielded good results at Willowvale, firearm seized

WILLOWVALE – At least one firearm is off the streets and crime has been prevented when Police seized the firearm in a roadblock this afternoon 23 December 2022.
Police were conducting Operation Vala Konke at Willowvale and a roadblock was executed and on searching vehicles they found a 32-year-old male in possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition. Traffic fines to the value of more than R10 000-00 were issued to drivers that disobeyed traffic regulations. As part of crime prevention Police confiscated dangerous weapons while they were doing stop and search in the CBD.
A 26-year-old female was arrested for dealing and possession of drugs. Drugs and an undisclosed amount of cash were confiscated by Police.
They are due to appear at Willowvale Magistrate Court on Wednesday 28 December 2022.
The District Commissioner Major General Ngangema Xakavu commended the members for the sterling job in executing such crime prevention activities and ensure that perpetrators are behind bars.
