Pan-African Agency Launches on Friday

AFRICAN Press Association (APA), a digital first news service for the African continent, is set to resume operations on Friday.
APA is Pan Africa’s leading source of intelligent information for business, innovative technology, Pan African news content, Public Relations, Press Office, Advertising and professionals.
According to APA Chairman, Mr. John Crowngold, the Pan African news agency will cover 25 African countries for a start before expanding to all 54 nations.
APA Chief Executive Officer, Michael Harold Mawere, said preparations for the resumption of services were at an advanced stage.
“It’s all systems go on Friday. Friday shall witness a new kid on the block for Africa, but the official launch for APA will be conducted at the end of April,” he said.
“I therefore call upon African governments, PR agencies, business, advertising and marketing agencies, newspapers, online, magazines and radio stations to book for business,” Mawere said.
He urged newspapers, radio stations, televisions and online publications in South Africa, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria and the entire SADC region to quickly sign deals while rates were still low due to promotional.
“If there was ever time for Africa to explore business opportunities throughout the continent, I believe now is the time. APA is there to make ambitious companies find their feet deep into the African continent,” Mawere said.
He said APA boasted media industry expertise coupled with innovative technology aimed at providing important information to African investors, business, politicians, governments, economic decision makers in specialised fields such as air, mining, energy, finance, insurance, mobile & telecoms, technology, agriculture, tourism, health and sports.
Mawere said APA sought to deliver breaking news in text format into major newsrooms across the entire continent as well as internationally.
“APA delivers Pan African news 18 hours, five days a week while spearheaded by a dedicated staff in APA’s continental headquarters in Johannesburg, South Africa.
“We (APA) run Press Office too to ensure that companies, governments, NGOs, political parties, who want their voice heard, activities, services and products known across Africa and beyond get complemented through our offering (Press Office),” Mawere said.
He said APA would engage other Pan African news agencies to boost their widest coverage for Africa.
