Police arrest housebreakers in Sandton

PARKTOWN – Police in Sandton are questioning three suspects aged 31, 36 and 43 after they were caught with goods allegedly stolen during a housebreaking at Parmore Gardens before midday yesterday. A suspects’ vehicle, Ford Figo, has been impounded and a Hisense television, curtains, gate remote controls and housebreaking implements were seized. The suspects are due to appear at the Randburg Magistrate Court tomorrow on charges of possession of suspected stolen goods and housebreaking.

Members of the Sandton Crime combatting unit stopped a suspicious vehicle whilst they were on their routine patrols. On searching the vehicle, they found a television which was wrapped in curtains, 2 gate remote controls and housebreaking equipment, including screw drivers and a wheel spanner. On further investigation, it was established that the goods were stolen during a housebreaking in the area. Police are also looking at a possibility that the suspects may be linked to other cases in the area and are being profiled.
