Police arrested house robbers in Philippi East

Members attached to Philippi East Crime Prevention Unit were on patrol when they received information about stolen property at an address in Crossroads. Members responded swiftly and upon arrival at the said address recovered two flat screen TVs and a monitor. Three suspects aged 16, 19 and 22 were arrested for the house robbery in Phase 5 in Lower Crossroads, Philippi East precinct.
The stolen property and suspects were positively identified by the complainant who was busy reporting the incident at the police station. The three suspects are expected to appear in Athlone Magistrate Court following their arrest for housebreaking and possession of stolen property and attempted murder charges.
Due to the positive impact of the Provincial Integrated team more than sixty suspects were arrested in the past two days for the possession of drugs, dangerous weapons and various other offences in the Nyanga Cluster. An assortment of drugs, parcels of dagga, cash, liquor, imitation firearms, hijacked vehicle and stolen property were recovered. Members were applauded for their swift response, vigilance and endeavours in ensuring the offenders are brought to book.
In an unrelated matter on Saturday 2020-09-26 at 22:20 a 43-year-old suspect was arrested for the possession of suspected stolen property by members attached to the Provincial Integrated Team. Various electronics and jewellery which were stolen from a home in Manyano Street, Crossroads, Nyanga were recovered. The arrested suspect will appear in court once they have been charged.
