Police bust two drug peddlers in Kimberley suburbs

NORTHERN CAPE – The Northern Cape Provincial Organised Crime Detectives brought two drug peddlers to a halt when stopped and searched in Kirstenhof Suburb, Kimberley.

Yesterday, 13 April 2020 at approximately 11:00, the suspects were spotted driving around in a silver grey Polo with two occupants aged 36 and 39. Their vehicle was stopped and searched. During the search the driver was found in possession of 21 pieces of Khat, weighing 9,86g and undisclosed amount of cash.

After searching the vehicle police proceeded to the suspects’ residence in Auction Street. At the residence the second suspect handed Khat drugs weighing 8.26 grams. He was found also in possession of undisclosed amount of cash.  Drugs found in possession of the suspects including cash were confiscated. The suspects are facing counts of dealing in drugs. They are expected to appear before the Kimberley Magistrate’s Court soon Source: South African Police Service
