The South African Police Service in this Province condemns in the strongest possible terms, the violence crime perpetrated against women especially crimes of rape.

This condemnation follows the incident where a 58 year old employer was arrested by the Groblersdal Police for allegedly raping his female employee aged 25 years.

It is alleged that the woman who was working at the suspect’s shop in the Groblersdal CBD was raped by her employer on Tuesday 2018-03-06 and he further tried to rape her again after two days unsuccessfully and he immediately dismissed her from work.

The woman reported the incident to the police who immediately started with their initial investigations which led to the swift apprehension of the suspect.

The suspect will appear before the Groblersdal Magistrate’s court tomorrow on Monday 2018-03-12 on a charge of rape.

The Police investigations are still continuing.
