Police in the Pixely Ka-Seme District recovers an illegal firearm and ammunition and seizes dagga and copper

During three separate incidents in the Pixely Ka-Seme District in the Northern Cape, police members seized a firearm and ammunition, dagga and copper during police actions the past week.

Police in Marydale followed up on information and pounced on an unsuspecting suspect on 11 August 2022 at about 23:00.

The 28-year-old male suspect was found with an illegal hunting rifle and ammunition in his vehicle parked in Roos Street in Marydale.

In a separate incident Prieska SAPS raided the taxi rank and found dagga worth R4000 after executing a search warrant during which members confiscated 39 small and 3 large zip lock bags with dagga weighing approximately 500 grams.

A 34-year-old male was apprehended and arrested on 13 August 2022.

The third incident occurred in Colesberg, when members of D-relief followed up on information and arrested two adult males caught red handed selling copper at a local recycling business.

The burnt copper cables weighing approximately 5,846 kg and valued at approximately R45 000-00 was confiscated.

All the suspects will be appearing in the local Courts soon. The investigations continue.
