Police investigate culpable homicide following a fatal accident

POLOKWANE – The South African Police Service in Lebowakgomo are investigating a case of culpable homicide, after four pedestrians were hit by a motor vehicle near Maralaleng village in the Ga-Mphahlele area last night, 17 September 2019 at about 20:00.

It is alleged that four family members aged between 10 and 55 years were walking along Maralaleng gravel road when they were knocked down by the vehicle that was travelling from Lekurung to Dithabaneng direction.

Police were summoned to the scene as well as the Emergency Services and all victims were certified dead on the scene.

The cause of the accident is not clear at this stage. Investigations continues.

The four deceased who are all members of the same family were identified as follows:

* Veronica Maswinyane aged 55.

* Pontsho Kadiaka aged 30.

* Constance Kadiaka aged 40.

* Thereso Kadiaka aged 10.
