Police Minister continued with Safer Festive Season Operations inspection tour in Eastern Cape

Police Minister, General Bheki Cele accompanied by SAPS Management arrived in Eastern Cape Province this morning to support and inspect the SAPS Safer Festive Season operations.

The Minister’s visit forms part of the efforts by the South African Police Service to turn the tide against crime ‘Zizojika Izinto’ this festive season.

The Minister begun his visit by addressing the members on parade at Gelvandale stadium and proceeded to Korsten Taxi Rank where he interacted with commuters and travellers thereafter continuing to a road block which was held on N2 outside Motherwell.

The Minister warned the drivers not to speed while they are on the road and to be patient with other motorists; above all to respect law enforcers.

While addressing shoppers at Kenako Mall, the Minister encouraged them to celebrate responsibly and to take care of the money they worked so hard for by spending it wisely.

People of Nelson Mandela Metro were very happy to meet the Minister in person and with police leadership. Information products were also distributed during the visit.

The visit was concluded by the visit and interaction with beach goers and holiday makers at Kings Beach.
