Police opens inquest after four people in Thembalethu

WESTERN CAPE – Thembalethu police opened an Inquest docket following the death of four victims after their shack burned down at Asazania, Thembalethu (George) on Saturday, 03 April 2021 at about 03:00.

A member of the public noticed that the shack was on fire and alerted authorities. Emergency services personnel responded when they discovered the remains of four occupants on the scene. The occupants two woman, a man and a 2-year-old toddler were all burned beyond recognition.

Circumstances surrounding the cause of the fire are under investigation.

Investigation continues.
