KING WILLIAM’S TOWN – Police are investigating a murder and attempted murder case after a couple was attacked in their home in Kamesh last night.

On Sunday, 30 June 2019 at about 10:30pm, it is alleged that a couple was watching television in the lounge of a house in Tailor Bird Street in Rosedale (Uitenhage, when someone knocked at the door. It is said that a boyfriend opened a door, and the two men, one armed with a firearm entered and started shooting at the couple. The two suspects immediately fled the scene after the incident. Jaydene Plaatjies (24) sustained gunshot wounds and was declared dead at the scene, and her 27-year-old injured boyfriend was taken to hospital. Kamesh detectives are following leads that could lead to the arrest of the two men. At this stage, it is unknown whether the suspects used a getaway vehicle.
