A missing person enquiry has been registered for investigation by the Highflats SAPS after 16-year-old Bongumenzi Mkhize of Springvale area in Highflats went missing. It is alleged that he was herding cattle on 31 March 2018 and did not return home. All his personal belongings were left behind at his home including his cellphone. He was last seen wearing black and white shorts.

The enquiry is being investigated by Sergeant Pretty Maphumulo of the Port Shepstone Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit (FCS). An appeal is made for anyone who may know of the boy’s whereabouts or has seen him since his disappearance, to contact Sergeant Maphumulo on 071 7400 527 or 039-834 1013 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111 or their nearest police station.
