Port Elizabeth K9 Unit arrest suspect with a firearm

PORT ELIZABETH – Swift action by Port Elizabeth K9 Unit members who acted on information received about four suspicious males walking in Stanford Road with firearms, led to the arrest of a 38-year-old suspect for possession of a firearm.
It is alleged that at about 00:30 on Saturday morning, 21 November 2020, the four males fitting the description from the information received were spotted near a garage on Stanford Road. On searching them, one male was found in possession of a 9mm pistol, magazine and 9 rounds of ammunition. The firearm is not reported as stolen.
He was arrested for illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition. He will appear in the Gelvandale Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 23 November 2020.
