Port Elizabeth: Woman arrested for possession of suspected stolen motorcycles

PORT ELIZABETH – A 24-year-old woman was arrested in Korsten this morning, 21 February 2020, by members of Uitenhage K9 unit for allegedly been in possession of suspected stolen motorcycles.

It is alleged that today, at approximately 07:30, the Uitenhage K9 unit followed up on information received about suspected stolen motorcycles in Durban Road, Korsten. Upon searching the house, three suspected stolen motorcycles were recovered.

Further investigation revealed that two motorcycles were stolen from a business premises in Newton Park during last night, 20 February 2020. The third motor cycle was reported stolen from Restitution Street, Fairview.

The woman was arrested and the investigation is continuing. She is expected to appear in court on Monday, 24 February 2020.

Theft of motorcycles within the metro is a concern and owners of motorcycles are urged to ensure that their motorcycles are properly secured.
