Postmasburg robbery suspect apprehended

KIMBERLEY – An armed robbery suspect has been apprehended subsequent to the alleged armed robbery incident in Postmasburg.

It is alleged that the suspect together with his accomplices stormed into a cellphone shop in Postmasburg and robbed the owner at gun point. During robbery the suspects fled the scene with cellphones and laptops. Investigation led the police to a house in Postmasburg where the suspect was found hiding. Laptops and cellphones which were stolen during robbery were found in possession of suspect. A firearm believed to have been instrumental in the robbery was also found in possession of the suspect.

The suspect is expected to appear before the Postmasburg Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 16 March 2020 on a charge of Business Robbery. We are still on the lookout for the suspects who are still on the run.
