Postmasburg SAPS, FCS and external stakeholders reach out to female learners

The Postmasburg FCS unit under the command of W/O Deborah Bob and members of the Postmasburg police station in conjunction with local businesses and PMG mine came together to collect a 1000 sanitary towels for young girls at local schools in the Postmasburg area on 25 September 2020.
The purpose of the fund-raising initiative was to collect sanitary towels for female learners at local schools who cannot afford to buy sanitary towels and therefore miss school during their menstrual cycle.
The joint partners also celebrated Heritage day when heeded to the call of the President and did the Jerusalema dance challenge as a collective.
The drill platoon under the command of by W/O Diphoko delivered a drill display in the business district of Postmasburg prior to the dance being performed.
Four local supermarkets were approached to donate sanitary towels to reach the target of 1000 to be distributed in the community and at local schools.
The Province Head of the FCS units in the Northern Cape, Brig Nicky Mills indicated that two primary and two high schools will be identified where the sanitary towels will be distributed to female learners.
He commended the joint team for the initiative taken in reaching out to the community and for making a difference in their circumstances.
