Angolan Head of State, José Eduardo dos Santos, Saturday paid tribute to the judge of the Provincial Court of Luanda, João Alves Monteiro, victim of illness in South Africa.
Angolan President expressed sympathies to the widow, children and other relatives, a move that symbolised the last respects to the magistrate.
João Alves Monteiro was, until his death, an adviser to the Angolan minister of Justice and Human Rights.
Among other individualities who also paid homage to deceased were minister of Justice for Courts, Supreme Court Chief Justice, Government officials; MPs of Parliament, the provincial governor of Luanda, judges among other individuals.
The remains of João Alves Monteiro were laid to rest on Saturday at “Alto das Cruzes” cemetery in Luanda.
