Pretoria: President Cyril Ramaphosa has extended well wishes to the Jewish community in South Africa and around the world, marking the observance of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur.
According to South African Government News Agency, President Ramaphosa emphasized the significance of the high holy days, highlighting the importance of faith and family during this period. In a statement on Friday, he noted, "As the Jewish community enters the period of the high holy days, we are reminded of the abiding value in faith and family."
President Ramaphosa underscored the theme of renewal and reflection inherent in Rosh Hashanah, emphasizing the message of bringing about change both personally and within the broader community. He stated, "In Jewish tradition, Rosh Hashanah is a time for renewal and reflection and carries a profound and timeless message about our power to bring about change - not only in our own lives, but in the lives of those around us."
