Provincial Champion for Men for Change addresses gender-based violence at learning institution

POLOKWANE – The Provincial Champion for Men for Change and the National Public Relations Officer, Lieutenant Colonel Remmonejeso Sekgota descended to Ga-Maraba village outside Polokwane with an objective to raise awareness among the boy child about gender-based violence (GBV) at Mmaphuti Secondary School on Tuesday, 13 September 2022.
Lieutenant Colonel Sekgota was accompanied by Sergeant Monatse Mamabolo attached to the Provincial Corporate Communication and Media Liaison Services under Media Centre unit. In addition, the awareness campaign was also intended to enhance the life skills and motivate the learners to have confidence and believe in themselves.
Most of the boy child found themselves under pressure because there is no one who advise and speak to them about manhood and gender-based violence (GBV.
“We cannot continue living like this, while our mission and vision is to raise a boy child to become a responsible father and husband for the future. Looking at you, we see future husbands, like your Principal and teachers”.
Respect is reciprocal. Love, protect and respect your opposite sex and they will do the same in return.
Over the weekend, when police do their patrols at sporadic liquor outlets, we are shocked to find the boy child consuming alcohol until the next morning, so be careful and don’t find yourselves at a wrong place at the wrong time because bad company corrupts.
“Learn to do positive things for yourself and know that charity begin at home. The best battle you can use is to possess patience and compassion for everyone irrespective of their gender,” concluded Lieutenant Colonel Sekgota.
