Provincial Commissioner condemns alleged murder of a 4-month-old baby

Potchefstroom: The North West Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Baile Motswenyane condemned a distressing and horrific murder incident wherein a father, 26, allegedly murdered his four-month-old baby on Sunday, 15 October 2017 at Khuma location near Stilfontein.

According to information available at this stage, the suspect had an argument with his girlfriend when he grabbed the baby and threw the baby to the ground. The baby was certified dead on the scene. The matter was reported to the police and the suspect was arrested. He is expected to appear in the Stilfontein Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 17 October 2017 facing a charge of murder.

We are deeply saddened by this gruesome incident and we once more would like to urge members of the community including those that are in domestic relationships to do their best to resolve their differences amicably rather than resorting to violence that sometimes affects innocent people such as in this case, concluded the Provincial Commissioner.
