Provincial Corporate Communication media engagements continue

POLOKWANE – The determined efforts by the SAPS members in Limpopo, to make use of the Media as a platform to reach out to their target audience, made major impact through the visits that were made by Communication Officials to the studios of Community radio stations this week.

The two Members from the Provincial Media Centre, Captain Mamphaswa Seabi and Constable Maphure Manamela, each visited a local community station of their choice during which they were given an opportunity to engage with the listeners. This is one of the initiatives which aims at strengthening the relationship with the media houses across the Province.

The engagement also saw the members discussing and raising awareness on different crime trends.

On 23 July 2019, Captain Seabi focussed on the following topics on Mohodi FM, in the Senwabarwana Policing area under the Seshego Cluster, about 60km outside Polokwane.

*Addressing gangsterism

*Mob attacks and killings, encourage communities to work with SAPS and report crime

*How to report missing persons

During the interview, the Captain updated the listeners about the court appearance of the 37-year-old suspect, arrested for kidnapping and rape of a 14-year-old learner, during an incident which took place in Seshego area during May this year.

Meanwhile, Constable Manamela visited the One Nation FM Studio, which is based in the City of Polokwane where she focussed on the following topics:

*The Scourge of Substance and alcohol abuse affecting the Youth across the Province.

*Possession of Suspected Stolen Properties

*What does it take to become a Police officer and the different career paths in the SAPS.

*Domestic Violence and Sexual Assaults

*Consequences of a criminal record

*What the law says about corrupt police officers

During the interview, lines were opened for questions of which were professionally addressed.
