Provincial organise crime terminate project blue tooth in springbok

A multi-disciplinary team under the command of the Provincial Commander of Organise Crime, Colonel Wilmo Vermeulen terminated Project Blue Tooth during the early hours of this morning, 15 October 2020 in the greater Springbok area. The operation commenced at 01:00 focusing on drug trafficking in the Namakwa cluster and the Western Cape.
Project Blue Tooth was registered in 2018 specifically aimed at clamping down on the distribution of drugs and dealing in the Namakwa area.
During the take down operations executed, the police arrested five (5) males aged 59, 34, 47, 58 and 42 respectively and one female aged 39 in Okiep and Springbok.
The termination of Project Blue Tooth was preceded by numerous disruptive actions since 2017 during large amounts of Tik, Mandrax, dagga and crystal meth was seized and confiscated.
The six suspects were charged for dealing in drugs and will soon appear in the Springbok Regional court.
The Acting Deputy Provincial Commissioner for Crime Detection, Brig Nicky Mills applauded the investigating team for their relentless efforts in clamping down on drug trafficking and drug dealers in the province.
