President Jacob Zuma will engage in the following local and international activities in the next two weeks:

On Monday, 3 October at 9am the President will officially open the Higher Education Stakeholder Summit at Emperor’s Palace in Kempton Park, bringing together various sectors including business, labour, faith based sector, students, parents and university management.

On Tuesday 4 October the President will receive letters of credence from High Commissioners and Ambassadors-designate. The Heads of Mission (Designate) who will present their credentials are from the Federative Republic of Brazil; Democratic People’s Republic of Korea; Colombia; Republic of Trinidad and Tobago; Argentine Republic; Islamic Republic of Iran, Republic of Guyana; Republic of Finland; Kingdom of Sweden; Republic of Fiji; Mongolia and Kyrgyzstan.

On Wednesday 5 October, the President will open the 17th World Trade Union Congress in Durban.

On Friday 7 October, President Zuma will host the President of the Republic of Namibia, President Hage Geingob. The two leaders will co-chair the South Africa-Namibia Bi-National Commission, aimed at taking forward social, political and economic relations between the two countries, which share deep historical ties.

The event will take place at the Sefako Makgatho Presidential Guest House, Pretoria.

On 11-12 October President Zuma will undertake a State Visit to Kenya, to be followed by the BRICS Summit in Goa, India on 15-16 October 2016.
