Railway robber nabbed

KING WILLIAMS TOWN – Following recent reports of robbery cases around the Cambridge railway station where people were allegedly robbed at knife point, Cambridge SAPS police launched an operation in the early hours yesterday. While still busy on this operation, a robbery complaint was received and immediately police reacted and pounced on a 21-year-old man who was positively identified by the complainant on the scene. He was found in possession of two cellphones and he led the police to where other stolen items were kept in a shack at Cambridge location.

On searching the shack, police recovered more cellphones, tablet, bank cards, knives, train tickets and ID cards.

The suspect will appear before the East London magistrate’s court tomorrow, 05 July 2019 facing charges of robbery.
