Rapist gets 10 years imprisonment for rape

KURUMAN – On Wednesday, 6 November 2019 a 23-year-old man, Boineelo Moseki was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment by Kuruman Regional Court for rape.

It is reported that in January 2017, Boineelo raped a 17-year-old girl at Bankhara village.

Furthermore, it is reported that during the incident, the victim’s parents send her to buy beer.

Along the way, the accused met with the victim and pointed her with a firearm and forcefully took her to his place and raped her.

The next morning the victim ran home and reported the matter. The matter was reported to the police and the accused was arrested.

The case was investigated by Captain Caren Nel, the Kuruman FCS Commander. A committed, dedicated and hardworking Captain Nel work tirelessly and closely with NPA and the department of Justice to ensure that justice is served and the accused is removed from the community. The accused has also been declared unfit to possess a firearm.

The Provincial FCS Commander, Brigadier Mills applauded Captain Nel for her sterling investigative work.

The Cluster Commander of JTG, Major General Johan Bean also complimented and praised Captain Nel for her outstanding investigation which ensured that the accused is taken to jail. Criminals of this nature has no place in JTG, said General Bean.
