Robbery suspect arrested

EASTERN CAPE – A 32-year-man was arrested following a robbery of a local Bakery truck at Viedgisville today at about 11:30. It is alleged that the driver and his van crew were on the way to Coffee Bay direction to deliver bread when a white Toyota Tazz drove past them and stopped just in the middle of the road and blocked the road. Three unknown men alighted from the car and fired gun shots towards the truck and the driver got out and fled unhurt. The suspects came to the truck and one of them got into the driver’s seat and then drove with the crew to three different shops delivering bread. They thereafter took a direction to Madondile locality and left the crew there with the truck. After an intensive search one suspect was arrested at Mthentu locality. He was found in possession of a 9mm pistol with eight (08) rounds and their getaway car was confiscated. Two other suspects managed to escape the arrest. He will appear before Mthatha Magistrate Court soon.

Lastly, Mthatha Vispol and King Sabata Dalindyebo Law Enforcement were conducting patrols at Zimbane Valley at about 17:00, when they received an information about a man who sells drugs at his home. They arrested a 24-year-old man after he was found in possession of 10 × Tik sachets, 06 × dagga sachets and an amount of R100. He will appear before Mthatha Magistrate Court tomorrow.
