Robbery suspects caught leaving the scene

The alertness of the Ntuzuma Trio Team led to the arrest of two robbery and rape suspects.
Yesterday morning, police officers were conducting their duties at G section when they spotted two males leaving a house on Anyanisi Walk in the Inanda policing area in a vehicle. A woman was seen signalling for the police through the window, shouting for help. Police then chased the vehicle with five occupants as it sped off. The suspects lost control of the vehicle and crashed onto a light pole.
Three men alighted and fired multiple shots at the police. Police found two occupants that were trapped inside the vehicle and household items that they could not account for. They were immediately arrested for possession of suspected stolen property. It is alleged that on 22 August 2020 at 05:00, unknown gunmen broke into a house at G section, demanding the occupants to lie down. They ransacked the house, took a television, tablets, computer and cellphones. One the suspects raped a 29-year-old female.
A case of house robbery was opened at Inanda police station. The arrested suspects are facing charges of possession of suspected stolen property, attempted murder and house robbery. They will appear at the Ntuzuma Magistrates Court soon.
The KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Jula commended the vigilance of the police officers which led to the arrest of the suspects.
