The Rotary Club of Abuja Midtown has inducted Mr Christian Ohaa, former Permanent Secretary, Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) and 13 others from diverse professions as members of the club.
President, Ms Brenda Max-Nduaguibe, said during the induction ceremony in Abuja on Sunday, that the new members would join the team to impact FCT communities and bring hope to the world.
Max-Nduaguibe explained that the inductees were drawn from the financial sector, consultants, medical doctors, top civil servants, entrepreneurs, and others working in different fields of human endeavours.
According to her, Rotary is a place for everybody to join, create hope in the world and impact our communities.”
She noted that the induction embodies the spirit of Rotary as an organisation for professionals and business personalities coming together, networking, building social contacts and giving back to the society.
She said that the new inductees have increased the membership strength of the club to 21 in Abuja, adding that the number would expand by the end of the Rotary year.
“The theme for the Rotary calendar is “Create Hope in the World”. We execute social services projects in communities.
“Our new members who joined with their expertise will contribute towards attaining the club’s core objective.
“The induction embodies the spirit of Rotary. We have so many projects in childcare and maternal health. We also have projects in disease prevention and others in water, sanitation, and health.
“In all these areas, we have people who work in different places, who come with their expertise and experience to help in designing projects that impact our communities,” she said.
