South Africa will participate in the African Union (AU) Ministerial Meeting of the Specialised Technical Committee on Youth, Culture and Sports taking place in Nairobi, Kenya.

The Deputy Minister in the Presidency for Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation as well as Youth Development and Administration, Buti Manamela, will represent South Africa at the meeting.

The meeting will discuss the Draft Statute of the African Audiovisual and Cinema Commission (AACC), which was established to enhance the development of the creative and cultural sectors on the continent. Delegates will also look in depth at the implementation plan of the AU Volunteer Corps, and the implementation strategy for the Anti-Doping Code.

Ministers at the meeting will hold talks on a detailed 10-Year Plan of Action on Employment, Entrepreneurship and Skills Development for African Youth.
