Safer Festive Season in full swing against drug dealers

KIMBERLEY – On Monday, 23 December 2019 at about 10 am the SAPS Northern Cape Provincial Detectives Organised Crime unit followed up on information about drug dealing in Galeshewe. Police rendered a search warrant to the owner of the house and found drugs stashed inside the premises.

The team confiscated 100 grams of Tik, 4 grams of Cat, 254 grams of Skunk Dagga and an undisclosed amount of cash. The total street value of the drugs is estimated at about R65 000. The 42-year-old male owner of the premises was arrested and is expected to appear in the Galeshewe Magistrate’s Court soon on charges of dealing in drugs.

The Northern Cape Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Risimati Shivuri reiterated that the Safer Festive Season Operation in the province is in full swing against drug dealers and all other criminal activities. Police will continue to turn the tide against crime and squeeze the space for criminals to operate.
