Safer school campaigns yield more positive results around Limpopo Province

The SAPS Tubatse Station Commander, Brigadier Angy Maloma and her entourage conducted a safer back to school campaign at Leolo High school.

The Social Crime Prevention co-ordinator, Warrant Officer Kgasago addressed learners about the following pivotal issues like bullying, gangsterism, domestic violence, drug and substance abuse, sexual abuse and human trafficking.

In addition, Brigadier Maloma addressed learners about discipline, mob attacks and killings, and other safety related tips.

The school management represented by the Deputy Principal, Ms Ngwana appreciated the positive efforts made by the Tubatse police in ensuring that the learning environment is safe at all times.

Meanwhile, the police in Tzaneen Cluster have dealt with the mushrooming of gangsterism at Phusela, Mabushe and Napscom High Schools in the Maake policing precinct.

Tzaneen Cluster Commander, Major General Maggy Mathebula spearheaded the operation with all relevant stakeholders including K9 unit, detectives, traditional leaders, SGB, CPF and CSF.

The operation commenced with the random school searches, door to door campaigns and tracing of wanted suspects especially those targeting the learners.

During the operation, suspects aged 16 and 21 believed to be members of a group of gangsters terrorising the school learners and community members in the area, were apprehended and found in possession of dangerous weapons, remote control devices and other items.
