SAPS and role players embark on Safer Schools campaign

DIMBAZA – SAPS together with Traditional leaders and Department of Basci Education conducted a Safer Schools Programme at Gasela High School, Dimbaza yesterday.

The event was initiated to discourage and intervene in the faction fights amongst students from different villages and to allow fo peaceful examination period and festive season. The Station Commander Lieutenant Colonel Khewana made a call to learners to throw away dangerous weapons and pick up the pens to prepare for better future.

The learners were encouraged to stand united against gender-based violence and support each other to break the silence on gender-based violence. Liquor and substance abuse were also discouraged as it leads to undesired consequences. Best wishes for the examination were conveyed to learners. They were encouraged to report criminal activities in their areas to the Police.
