SAPS Boosts Policing with New Fleet of 1,087 Vehicles

Pretoria:The National Commissioner of the South African Police Service (SAPS), General Fannie Masemola, is set to distribute 1,087 new vehicles in an effort to bolster grassroots policing capabilities.

According to South African Government News Agency, this new fleet, which includes sedans and double-cab bakkies, is part of SAPS's continuous initiatives to enhance frontline service delivery, operational efficiency, police visibility, and crime-fighting capacity.

The vehicles are destined for 140 high crime stations and various units such as Detectives, Visible Policing, Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) Units, 10111 Call Centres, and Flying Squads, as mentioned in a police statement preceding the official handover. This initiative aims to improve police operational readiness, response times, investigation strength, and ensure communities receive effective and efficient policing services.
