Durban: The South African Police Service (SAPS) has confirmed the reappointment of Lieutenant General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi as the Provincial Commissioner of KwaZulu-Natal on a five-year fixed-term contract.
According to South African Government News Agency, the SAPS issued a statement on Saturday stating that the reappointment follows consultation with the Premier of the KwaZulu-Natal province, Thamsanqa Ntuli. The statement highlighted that further details about the appointment would be provided in due course.
The statement also included well-wishes from National Police Commissioner General Fannie Masemola, who expressed confidence in Lieutenant General Mkhwanazi's ability to provide stability and leadership in the province of KwaZulu-Natal.
