Pretoria: The South African Police Service (SAPS) e-recruitment site is experiencing an overwhelming influx of applications for the Basic Police Learning Development Programme (BPLDP) since its launch. The platform, https://erecruitment.saps.gov.za/, went live on Monday and has already seen a significant response from aspiring applicants.

According to South African Government News Agency, within the first 24 hours of the site’s activation, SAPS received more than 67,774 applications from individuals across various regions of the country. The surge in applications is causing delayed responses on the website due to the high traffic volume. SAPS has acknowledged this issue and assured applicants that the Technology Management Services, along with IT experts, are continuously monitoring the situation to facilitate smoother access.

Applicants have been advised to remain patient and persist with refreshing the careers page as they attempt to submit their applications. The closing date for applications for the BPLDP is set for 18 July 2025, and all submissions must be made exclusively through the website portal. Email submissions will not be accepted.
