SAPS joins stakeholders in crime awareness campaign in Centane

CENTANE: Visible Policing and Corporate Communication and Liaison joined the Department of Safety and Liaison, Amathole District Municipality and the Community Policing Forum in a campaign against Gender Based Violence and Femicide around different localities in Centane, under the Amathole District.

The visit to the area followed reports and concerns relating to incidents of Gender Based Violence in the vicinity. Amathole District Manager, Mrs Miranda Sinqotho from Department of Safety and Liaison explained the importance of collective effort in the fight against crime, hence different stakeholders were involved in the initiative.

The door-to-door campaign preceded the visit by MEC for Safety and Liaison, Mrs Weziwe Tikana-Gxothiwe, together with SAPS Senior Management on Thursday, 15 April 2021. The principals are expected to engage with the community of Centane on issues relating to criminality, especially Gender Based Violence and Femicide.
