NELSPRUIT � A 48-year-old school principal from Piet Retief has been remanded in custody during his appearance at the local Magistrate’s Court yesterday, 15 November 2017, on an allegation of rape.

The suspect’s appearance comes after he allegedly raped a learner since she was aged 15 in 2014, up until her current age. It is further reported that the learner eventually became pregnant in the process and gave birth to a baby.

The suspect is scheduled to appear before the same court again on 22 November 2017, pending a formal bail application.
