Cullinan:A second suspect arrested in connection with the murder of 44-year-old Monicca Dube, a member of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) party, is set to appear in the Cullinan Magistrate's Court on Wednesday, October 7.
According to South African Government News Agency, the 39-year-old suspect was apprehended by the Gauteng Political Killings Task Team (PKTT) following a thorough investigation that linked him to the crime. The arrest was made on Tuesday evening.
Monicca Dube, who previously served as the EFF Tshwane Region 2 Secretary, was tragically shot and killed on June 13, 2026, at her home in Wallmansthal, while her family members were present.
The suspect will face a murder charge in court. This arrest comes after the earlier apprehension of Sipho Mahlangu in July 2026. Mahlangu has appeared multiple times before the Cullinan Magistrate's Court and is still in police custody.
