Security Cluster pushes for wellness

CAMBRIDGE – The SAPS comprising of four clusters (Mdantsane, East London, Alice and King William’s Town) in conjunction with the SANDF, Department of Correctional Services, Department of Transport Safety and liaison held a Security Cluster Wellness Event at the Zwelitsha Sports Grounds today. The event was supported by partners like Old Mutual, Liberty Life, Debt Counselling Group of South Africa, Sanlam, Avbob, Absa and NTT (VW group).

Participating in the event was Amathole Safety and liaison District manager, Mrs Miranda Sinqoto and her HOD, Mr. Zukile Kani. This joint initiative was started last year and hosted by the SAPS with the aim of promoting wellness among security cluster employees, raising awareness on cancer, mental health, obesity and financial wellness. The event was started with a fun run/walk, included aerobics, chess, netball, volleyball, tug of war and soccer. This year’s event was hosted by the Department of Transport Safety and liaison.
