Serial rapist nabbed in Hlobane

An intelligence driven operation was conducted by the Ugu District Task Team assisted by Vryheid K9 Unit and Vryheid SAPS on 11 November 2020 at Encuje area in the Ehlobane area, Zululand District.
The team was following up information regarding the serial rapist that was sought for six counts of rape and four counts of robbery that were committed at Mehlomnyama SAPS and in Emanguzi areas.
A 38-year-old suspect traced and arrested after evading police arrest since 2008. The cases were investigation by the Portshepstone and Jozini FCS Unit. His modus operandi was to attack women and rob them of their cellphones and cash. The suspect was placed under arrest and was brought to Port Shepstone. He is appearing before the Port Shepstone Magistrates’ Court today.
The KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Khombinkosi Jula welcomed the arrest of the serial rapist who was terrorising the defenceless women.
