Seven arrested for business robbery

Swift reaction from the police has led to the arrest of seven suspects in connection with a business robbery in two separate incidents in Madibeng area. On Monday, 28 May 2018 at about 03:00 in the morning, the suspects allegedly gained entry through the roof of the shop. It is alleged that the victim was held at gunpoint while the other four suspects ransacked the shop.

As the suspects went out of the shop a police vehicle on patrol in the area scared off the suspects who abandoned the stolen goods and fled the scene on foot. The police ran after them and managed to arrest one suspect who subsequently led them to six more suspects who were allegedly involved in another business robbery that occurred earlier in the week on the same area.

A firearm, air time vouchers, air time machine and undisclosed amount of cash were recovered. The suspects are between 19 and 29 years old should be appearing in court soon. The investigation continues.
