EASTERN CAPE – Seven (07) men aged between 18 and 27 years were arrested following a house robbery that occurred at Mvezo locality yesterday at about 22h00. It is alleged that a 68-year-old woman was sleeping when she heard a bang on her door and afterwards seven suspects armed with a pistol, hammers and a bush knife stormed in and demanded money and her cellphone and afterwards fled the scene.
Today at about 13h00 Bityi Detectives and Visible policing visited Mvezo locality and seized a firearm with no ammunition, 02 × hammers and 02 × knives. They will appear before Bityi Periodical Court tomorrow facing charges of house robbery, possession of unlicensed firearm and possession of dangerous weapons.
