Seven suspects arrested in Ceres with drugs

WESTERN CAPE � Our efforts to address the drug trade in this province landed six suspects behind bars for dealing in drugs in Ceres. Yesterday information was operationalised which led police to a house in Nduli where 26 parcels of dagga and compressed dagga with a total weight of 3.6kg were confiscated. The 50-year-old suspect was arrested on a charge of dealing in drugs.

During a vehicle check point, also in Ceres yesterday five suspects aged between 28 and 43 were arrested when their vehicle was searched. They were caught in possession of tik with a combined weight of 729, 5 gram and are also detained for dealing in drugs.

The six suspects are expected to make their court appearances in Ceres tomorrow.

During crime operations in Cape Town last night a 33 year old drug dealer was apprehended in possession of a variety of drugs comprising, tik, CAT, cocaine, ecstasy tablets, and R3400-00 cash, believed to be the proceeds of drug trafficking. He is expected to make his court appearance tomorrow in Cape Town.
