Several suspects were apprehended for house robbery and carjacking charges in Nyanga

WESTERN CAPE – Six suspects are expected to appear in court this week following their arrests today and yesterday, 30 September 2019 in Nyanga. Two teenagers aged 16 and 17 were arrested earlier today while they were appearing in another Court. The pair and other accomplices robbed a complainant of cash and hijacked him of his vehicle while he was delivering goods in Wood-Baai in Browns Farm in August. The suspects fled with goods that were in the vehicle. Information was received and a further investigation was conducted which led to them being arrested today.

Meanwhile, four other suspects were arrested on Monday, 30 September 2019 afternoon after they robbed a complainant and his friends while they were sleeping at about 02:00, in New Rest Squatter Camp in Crossroads. The complainant and his friends were awoken by the suspects who robbed them of their cellphones but through further investigation the suspects were arrested and the cellphones were recovered in the area.

All six suspects aged between 16 and 32 are due to appear in the Athlone Magistrate Court on charges of house robbery and carjacking.
