Shoplifting suspects arrested in Jan Kempdorp

KIMBERLEY – The determination of Sergeant Modise Sedimo and Constable Luckyboy Mabusweni from Kimberley SAPS led to the arrest of two (2) suspects wanted for shoplifting in the Kimberley area during the weekend. The two suspects, a 59-year-old female and 60-year-old male were arrested on Monday, 20 January 2020 at approximately 16:30 at a house in Jan Kempdorp.It is believed that the two suspects evaded arrest on Saturday, 18 January 2020 in Kimberley when three of their accomplices were arrested for shoplifting.

The two members worked tirelessly following up on information regarding the two suspects which led them to Jan Kempdorp where they managed to apprehend and arrest them at a house in Jan Kempdorp. It is further alleged that the two are also linked to other cases of shoplifting in the greater Kimberley and surrounding areas.

The two will soon appear in the Kimberley Magistrate’s court on a charge of shoplifting.

The Acting Station Commander of Kimberley SAPS, Colonel Belinda Rikhosta commended the members for their determination and commitment in ensuring that the two suspects are brought before court. Members will continue unabated to squeeze the space for criminals to operate in Kimberley.
